A benchtop water filter works by using gravity and multi-stage filtration to clean your tap water—no plumbing or power required.

Here’s how it works step-by-step:

1. Add Tap Water at the Top

You pour regular tap water into the top tank of the filter system.

2. Gravity Does the Work

Instead of using electricity, the water flows down through the filter using gravity. It’s slow and steady to make sure everything gets filtered properly.

3. 8 Stage Filtration Begins

As the water moves through, it passes 8 filter layers (may vary by model):

– Removes bacteria, sediment, dirt, and microplastics
– Absorbs chlorine, odours, and bad tastes
– Reduces heavy metals like lead and mercury
– Add good minerals (like calcium & magnesium)
– Increases pH to create smooth, alkaline-rich water
– Help with better absorption and taste

4. Clean Water Collects in the Bottom Tank

After going through all the filters, clean, mineral-rich, and slightly alkaline water collects in the bottom container, ready for drinking.

You just turn the tap on the front to pour!

✅ No Power. No Plumbing. No Fuss.

– great for homes, offices, caravans

Installation is super simple! No tools, no plumbing, and no stress. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  1. and rinse all parts with clean water before assembly.
  2. Make sure it’s level and stable.
into the lower tank securely (a small washer is included).
  3. Place the ceramic or fluoride filter into the upper tank and tighten gently.
mineral stones or magnesium prill beads (if provided) into the bottom tank.
  4. Stack the upper tank on top of the lower tank.
  5. Fill the top tank with tap water – gravity will pull the water down through the filters.
  6. Allow the first full batch to filter through completely before use.

💡 Pro Tip: Discard the first 1–2 batches of filtered water to ensure the system is primed and any loose carbon dust is flushed out.

Each main filter cartridge lasts for around:

  • 350 litres or 3 months, depending on your water quality and usage.
  • Ceramic and fluoride filters may last longer but should be cleaned regularly.

Many models come with a filter change reminder built into the lid or base so you’ll always know when it’s time for a replacement.

You can find replacement filters and add-ons easily on our website!

Unsure

This unit is obviously on the cheap end of build quality which doesn’t make it awful but just a utilitarian piece. The filtration is very slow. Not sure if it needs to be but 4 litres can take up to 10 hours to get through. The tap is also slower than it should be with 30 seconds to fill a litre. Given this is the first filtration system used, there’s little to compare it to. Ultimately, the test is that the water is excellent. Would like to see some more scientific tests to verify this.

Great Investment

I've tried several water purifiers before, but this benchtop alkaline water purifier is by far the best. The multi-stage filtration system effectively removes impurities, including chlorine and heavy metals, and the alkaline filter provides a refreshing taste.
